    Sweeney Todd

    July 22 - 27, 2008

    A MUSIC CIRCUS PREMIERE!

    At the Wells Fargo Pavilion
    1419 H Street, Sacramento, CA, 95184

Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.  Book by Hugh Wheeler.  Based on a version of “Sweeney Todd” by Christopher Bond.

"Attend the tale of Sweeney Todd … he shaved the faces of gentlemen who never thereafter were heard of again …”  The Tony Award-winning best musical of 1979 makes its Sacramento professional premiere!  The chilling, heart-pounding musical thriller of barber-ism and culinary crime tells the infamous tale of the unjustly imprisoned barber who returns to 19th century London seeking revenge on the lecherous judge who framed him and ravaged his wife.  His quest to avenge his wrongs expands to include his unfortunate customers, and soon the resourceful proprietress of the pie shop downstairs has droves lining up for her "secret ingredient" meat pies! "Sweeney Todd” boasts Stephen Sondheim's grandest, most beautiful and ingeniously crafted score.

    Availability Guide

Ticket availability is updated at least once a week.  Availability may change at any time.

Best availability - A green star means that at least 250 seats (about 10 percent of the house) are available for sale.
Limited availability - A yellow yield sign means that less than 250 seats (about 10 percent of the house) are available for sale.  These performances can be expected to sell out soon.  Seating will likely be limited to the last two rows of the theatre, or to random single tickets throughout the house.

Very limited availability- A red stop sign means that less than 100 tickets are available for sale.  In most cases this means that there may not be two tickets next to each other.
