There’s no business like show business! Especially when you’re on tour with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. Sharpshooter Annie Oakley has eyes for chauvinistic Frank Butler, who’d rather have a girl who wears satin.
With music by Irving Berlin, including “Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better” and “I Got the Sun in the Morning” and the show-stopping hit, "There's No Business Like Show Business."
The cast of “Annie Get Your Gun” is led by Beth Malone as Annie Oakley. Malone created the role on Broadway of June Carter Cash in the Johnny Cash musical "Ring of Fire." Malone also originated the roles Bettie Jean in “The Marvelous Wonderettes” and as Alison in “Bingo” off-Broadway.
Joining Malone is Edward Watts as Frank Butler, who just completed a year-and-a-half run in the off-Broadway production of “The Fantasticks.” In New York, Watts also appeared on Broadway in "Finian's Rainbow," at the New York City Opera in "The Most Happy Fella" and in the tours of "Les Miserables" and "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers."
Music Circus veteran Heather Lee returns for her 16th production as Frank Butler's assistant, Dolly Tate. Audiences may recognize her from her performances under the tent as Miss Adelaide in “Guys and Dolls,” Beggar Woman in “Sweeney Todd,” and Cinderella in “Into the Woods,” among others.
The production will be directed by Gary John La Rosa who directed “Footloose” in 2004 and choreographed by John MacInnis, who recently associate choreographed the Tony Award-nominated musical “Book of Mormon” on Broadway.
"Annie Get Your Gun" is recommended for theatregoers 4 and over.
