California Musical Theatre (CMT), presenters of Music Circus and Broadway Sacramento, has a long history in the Sacramento region, beginning in 1951 as a summer stock theatre under a canvas tent. Today, Music Circus audiences enjoy professional musical theatre productions every summer in-the-round at the beautiful Wells Fargo Pavilion. The rest of the year, national touring productions come to Sacramento on our Broadway Sacramento season at The Community Center Theater. CMT has been a part of Sacramento history for over 60 years, and will continue to be a memorable piece of the region for generations to come.
Our mission is to enrich the cultural life of the community, to preserve and expand the American musical as an art form, to educate new audiences and to nurture aspiring artists. Ticket sales alone do not cover all of the costs involved. To achieve our goals we rely on the generous support of individuals and businesses. California Musical Theatre is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and all donations are tax-deductible.
There are many ways you can “Show your support”: become an individual donor; promote your business as a Corporate Sponsor; make a stock donation; and contribute supplies and services. Many companies will match gifts, or if you're a state or federal employee there are opportunities for workplace giving. Leave a lasting legacy through our Foundation. Hundreds of people also generously volunteer their time. If you are unable to use your show tickets, you can even donate them back to CMT as a tax-deductible gift.
